Shirley Marshall

Shirley Mae Marshall, 88, passed away at 7:14 am Sunday November 1, 2015 at St. Clare’s Villas in
Alton.

She was born on November 27, 1926 in Alton, the daughter of William J. & Mae G. (Grisham) Meyer.

Shirley married James L. Marshall on March 21, 1953 in Alton and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1999.

She was a member of Sanford Avenue Baptist Church in Alton, taught Sunday school for many years and was member of the Alton Women’s Council.

Shirley is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark & Sharon Marshall of Alton and Paul & Lillian Marshall of Georgia, four grandchildren, Mark Marshall, Cathy Suttels, Amy Lowis, and Jill Bullard, ten great grandchildren, Demi, Evan, Trenton, Tyler, Adam, Johnathan, Russell, Mason, Derrick and Ethan; two great great grandchildren, a niece Laura Eyer.

Visitation will be from 10 am until time of funeral services at 10:30 am Wednesday November 4, 2015 at Sanford Avenue Baptist Church in Alton with Pastor Daniel Bowers officiating.

Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be made to Sanford Avenue Baptist Church.
