Shirley M Stanton, 84, of Medora, passed away at 12:37 am on Sun Feb 3, 2019 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on March 20, 1934 in Jerseyville, IL to Jesse E & Lelia B (Baker) Smith. Shirley married Kenneth E Stanton on Sept 15, 1953 in Jersey County. Kenneth passed away Feb 3, 2013.
She is survived by a daughter & son in law: Mary B & Charlie Dixon of Medora, sons & daughters in laws: Ronald & Judy Stanton of Medora and Donald & Tanya Stanton of E Alton, 7 grandchildren: Shannon & Darian Clothier, Jared Stanton, Derek & Danielle Dixon, Adam Stanton, Jordan Wankel, Caden Stanton & London Stanton, & great grandchildren: Austin Stanton, McKenzie Stanton, Peyton Clothier & Kynlie Muscarella.
Shirley worked at the Southwestern High School cafeteria and was a member of the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister: Helen Lucille Smith and brother: George Smith.
Visitation will be 10-noon Sat Feb 9, 2019 at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora.
Funeral services will be at noon on Sat Feb 9, 2019 at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora with Rev Rob Cleeton officiating.
Burial will be in Medora Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to Mt Pleasant Baptist Church.
