Shirley Irene Talley, 76, passed away at 10:10 am on Sunday March 17, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center with her family by her side.
She was born on December 14, 1936 in Alton, the daughter of Frank and Viola (Murphy) Lewis.
Shirley loved gardening and flowers, especially planting her tomatoes. She was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, but nothing was better than spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by two sons, Russell Gossard of Godfrey, and Billy Gossard; a daughter, Patricia Gossard; six grandchildren, Joseph Gossard, Ben Gossard, Josh Gossard, Eric Belloso, Alex Belloso, and Nicki Patterson; two sisters, Fern Rives and Della Denson, both of Woodburn IL; and one brother Howard Lewis, of Bethalto.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Lewis, Robert Lewis, and Clarence Lewis.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until service time at 7 pm on Thursday March 21, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Pastor Charles West will officiate.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
