Shirley Davis
Lake Ozark, MO | Save
Shirley Lee (Baker) Davis, 80, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Osage Beach, Missouri. Born on August 1, 1945, in Carlinville, Illinois, Shirley was a devoted wife to her husband, Jerry, and a loving mother to her daughter, Angie, and her son, Rick.
A 1963 graduate of Southwestern High School in Piasa, Illinois, Shirley went on to earn her Associate's degree from Lewis and Clark College in Godfrey, Illinois, in 1975. She served as a teacher's assistant at Southwestern Unit District 9 in Piasa from 1980 to 1985, and later as an administrative assistant at Baker & Company, CPAs, in Edwardsville, Illinois, from 1985 to 1995. She also enjoyed working alongside her daughter, Angie, at GNC and Dollar Mania. During all this time she was a devoted aunt, great-aunt, and care giver to Brianna (Baker) Nemeth, Shannon (Baker) Hall and Bobby Owens.
Shirley was a woman of many gifts — a talented artist with a creative eye for interior decorating, a loyal wife, a devoted mother, and a cherished aunt. Her warmth and generosity extended to so many family and friends. Above all, Shirley treasured time spent with her family, finding her greatest joy in the people she loved.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Jerry Davis of Lake Ozark, Missouri; her daughter, Angie Solman (fiancé Ken Stults) of Dexter, Iowa; her sister, Susan Davis of Brighton, Illinois; and her brother, Thomas Baker, Jr. (Candy Morris), of Nashville, Tennessee. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Baker, Sr. and Dorothy (McCauley) Baker; her sister, Frances "Snooks" Baker Jacobs; and her beloved son, Rick Davis.
Shirley's grace, creativity, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
