Shirley Mae Burris, 83, passed away September 10, 2026 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville.
Born December 17, 1942 in Alton, she was the daughter of Leland Bryon and Verna Marie (Luecking) Finch.
Shirley graduated from SIUE in 1966 with a Bachelor Degree in Education and Business Education. She was a teacher in the Waterloo School District before becoming an Administrative Assistant at SIUE, retiring in 2001.
On March 19, 1966 in Wood River, she married Michael Charles Burris. He died October 14, 1991.
Surviving are an aunt, several cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be from 10:30 until time of service at 11am, Saturday, September 12 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Paul Joiner will officiate.
Burial will be in Fosterburg Cemetery.
