Shelia Kaye Wimberly, 46, of Bethalto, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on August 7, 1979, in Alton, IL, the daughter of William and Kimberly (Compton) Haugen. Shelia married Antonio "Cortez" Wimberly in Jerseyville, on November 6, 2000. He survives.
Shelia was very crafty. She loved home renovations, DIY, and decorating. She built her house with love and compassion. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and co-workers at SIHF.
Along with her husband, Cortez, her parents William and Kimberly, she is also survived by her children, Evan Wimberly and Maya Wimberly; a brother, Travis (Jessica) Haugen; and a life-long friend, Kelly.
She was preceded in death by her dog, Diva, who she loved dearly; and a close friend, Eileen.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be held at this time.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is entrusted with final arrangements.
