Sharon L. Beckmeyer, 78, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Bethalto Care Center in Bethalto. Born November 10, 1938 in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, she was the daughter of George and Margaret (Fightmaster) Ficke. Mrs. Beckmeyer was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She was a receptionist for a dental office for many years. She also taught school at St. Ambrose and was a babysitter at her home. On September 27, 1958 she married Paul Louis Beckmeyer in Crescent Springs, KY. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2001. Surviving are three daughters, Lisa Jones (Mike) of Godfrey, Peggy Ringhausen (David) of Coppell, TX, and Mara Beckmeyer of Godfrey, seven grandchildren, Meghan Funk (Nick) of Alton, Tori Ringhausen of Chicago, Nikolaos Maggos of Riverside, CA, Alyssa Ringhausen of Coppell, TX, Carlos Anderson, Colten Jones of Godfrey, and Camden Maggos of Godfrey, and one brother, George Ficke Jr. (Virginia) of Ft. Mitchell, KY. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate.
