Sharon Scoggins

Sharon K. Scoggins, 78, died at 8:53 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2020 at University Care Center in Edwardsville after a brief illness. Born June 4, 1941 in Alton, she was the daughter of Lewis B. Miller and Elva M. (Caulk) Miller-Rose. She graduated from Civic Memorial High School. Mrs. Scoggins proudly served the Southwestern School District as a bus driver for over 40 years. She was loyal and never met a person she didn’t trust or lend a hand to. She loved to play bingo every chance she had. She supported her kids in Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout mom), Girl Scouts and softball. She is survived by her two children, Alan Scoggins of Kenai, Alaska, and Tracia Roberson of Glen Carbon, three grandchildren, Kyle Scoggins serving with the 82nd Airborne in Ft. Benning, GA, Nathan Scoggins of Dover, NH, and Tabbitha Kaitleigh Palmer of Glen Carbon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma, Vera, Rosemary and Alice, her brothers, Dwight and Lewis “Bud” Miller, and recently her cousins, Betty Crepps and Rhonda Gill both formerly of Bethalto.
