Sarah Dixon

Sarah A. Dixon, 94, stepped into the arms of God at 12:01 am on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at home with family by her side.  She was a member of Cottage Hills Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and a surrogate grandma to many children during her babysitting years.She was born on May 15, 1922 in Cap Aus Gris, MO, the daughter of the late Adlai and Clara (Tayon) Kimberly.She married Von C. Dixon on November 15, 1938 in Winfield, MO.  He preceded her in death along with a son, James V. Dixon.Sarah is survived by her three daughters and their spouses Annette (Dixon) and Robert Clark, Wanda (Dixon) and Charles Rankin and Sandra Dixon; a son and his spouse Earl W. and Linda (Stout) Dixon; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one sisters Wilma (Kimberly) Uthe and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, husband and son, she is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.Visitation will be from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
