Samuel Young

No services are planned at this time for Samuel J. Young, 36, formerly of Litchfield, IL. Mr. Young passed away Thursday, September 4, at his home in Springfield, IL.  

Mr. Young was a personal trainer and gym owner in Springfield, IL. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 2007, following with a stint in the Navy where he earned the only medal for expert marksmanship in his division of 265 soldiers. Later he attended classes at LCCC, majoring in criminal justice; he also earned certifications in personal training, eventually opening his gym Peak Performance.  

Sam was born in Litchfield, IL in 1989, the son of Paul and Tami Fraser Young. Growing up he was active in Boy Scouts and sports that included baseball, soccer, wrestling, and football. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on cars, and playing the guitar.

Surviving are his brother Robert and wife Jen and their children Bobby and Olivia, brother Ernie, parents Paul and Tami, grandmother Delores Fraser Fernandez, son Aiden, girlfriend Stephanie, dogs Bronson and Bilbo and 4 cats. The family suggests memorials to local animal shelters.
