Sally Long

Sally Ann Long, 79, died at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Born November 18, 1941 in White Hall, IL, she was the daughter of Otto and Iva (Collins) Berg.  She retired in 2003 as an assistant administrator for Eldercare Nursing Home in Alton.  On June 29, 1963 she married Terry O. Long in Godfrey.  He survives.  Also surviving is a daughter, Sheri Hill (Greg) of Godfrey, a son, Michael Grant Long (Christian) of Doylestown, PA, three grandchildren, Greg Jr., Alan, and Joshua, and a sister-in-law, Darlene Berg of Alton.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Otto Berg Jr. and Harold Berg and a sister, Georgia Dawdy.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
