Ruth Davis

Ruth Virginia Davis, 95, died at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Willow Rose Rehab & Health Care Center in Jerseyville.She was born in Jersey County on April 6, 1923, and was one of three children born to Lee and Martha (Mayhew) Davis.She was a 1940 graduate of Jersey Township High School, and had worked in both St. Louis, Missouri and Springfield, Illinois in her younger years.She is survived by a sister, Lois Davis of Jerseyville; four nieces and nephews, along with their spouses, Paula Davis of Alton, Ed and Debbie Davis of Kane, Cynthia and Larry Monkton of Alton, and Rick and Julie Davis of Jerseyville; 7 great nieces and nephews and 6 great great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a brother and sister in-law, Charles and Thelma Davis.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.   Rev. Joel Lohr will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Jersey County Historical Society.
