Ruth Pierce

Ruth Catherine Pierce, nee Korte, 84, of Belleville, IL, born May 25, 1941, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mrs. Pierce worked as a manager in the photography department at Walmart. Later, she worked for over 10 years at the gift shop at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. She was a devout Catholic and an extremely doting mother and grandmother. She loved working in her yard and was a wonderful and caring woman who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Hilda, nee Waller, Korte; and her brother, Donald Korte.

Surviving are her loving husband of 39 years, Randolph Pierce, whom she married May 22, 1986; a son, Jay (Dana) Guetterman; a daughter, Jody (Patrick) Chan; three grandchildren, Mia Guetterman, Jordan (Carla) Foster, and Joel (Paige) Foster; her dear friend, Beverly Shively; many cousins; and her beloved dog, Louie.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Elvis Mwamba officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
