Ruth Martin

Ruth Ann Martin, 87, of Gillespie, IL, died at her residence on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 10:06 am. She was born July 6, 1939, in Jerseyville, IL to Frank Eisler & Amy Erma Woolsey Eisler.  

She married Jimmie L. Martin on July 16, 1954 in Jerseyville, IL. Ruth enjoyed bowling, gardening, crossword puzzles and being with her children and grandchildren.  

She is survived by her spouse, Jim L. Martin of Gillespie, IL, children, Jeff (Sherry) Martin of Gillespie, IL, Janice (Bill) Sloan of Benld, IL, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, brother, Bob Eisler of Jerseyville, IL and sister, Joetta Lott of Jerseyville, IL.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lu, Doris, brothers, Ronnie, Artie. No public services are scheduled.
