Russell S. “Russ” Eidson, age 63, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 10, 2021, at his residence. He was born February 8, 1958, in Alton, Illinois, the son of the late Jesse W. & Ruth S. (McGraw) Eidson.
Russ was an Operating Engineer at ConocoPhillips refinery in Wood River, Illinois for many years, retiring in 2020. He is survived by his daughter, Cherie Dickmann & husband Brian of Edwardsville; two grandsons, Brenden Dickmann & Colten Dickmann; one brother, Michael Eidson of Owatonna, MN; and sister, Ann Eidson of Lynnwood, WA; and his nieces and nephews.
Russ served in the United States Navy from February 1977 to April 1979; was a member and former board member of the Edwardsville Moose Lodge 1561, and a former coach for Edwardsville Little Tigers Football. Russ loved spending time woodworking, fishing, trap shooting and golfing with his grandsons and friends.
He will be cremated according to his wishes and a celebration-of-life gathering will be held at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge on Sunday May 16th, 2021 beginning at 3:00 PM.
