Rue Foe

Rue E. Foe, age 95, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday October 28, 2026, at his residence at Keystone Place at Magnolia Commons in Glen Carbon, IL.

Rue was born in Shetlerville, IL, the son of the late Roy & Rilla (Vinson) Foe.

Rue married Wilma (Kovacs) Foe on May 28, 1955, in Cleveland, OH. Wilma preceded Rue in death on June 19, 2014.

Rue survived by a son, William "Bill" Foe & wife Debbie, of Cypress, TX; 2 daughters, Patricia "Patty" Stone & husband Bob, of Hamilton, MT, and Melinda Pauk & husband Jeff, of Edwardsville, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Rue was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara King; a granddaughter, Rachel Anne Foe Pauk; a sister, Irene Hobbs; and two brothers, Vinson and John Foe.

Rue was a veteran of the US Army. Rue retired from District 7 after 25 years of service, and 32 years overall in public education. He also helped start and direct the Mississippi Valley Co-op for 10 years. Rue was the past President of the Woodlawn Cemetery Board and was a life member of the Edwardsville Buck & Bass Club.

Visitation will be at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 9:30 until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Daniel Ervin presiding.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville. Condolences may be expressed at weberfuneralhome.com.
