Rudolph “Rudy” Charles Minzer, 88, passed away at 5:15 pm on Saturday December 10, 2016 at home.
He was born on May 20, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Andrew and Winona (Moeller) Minzer.
He was a carpenter for the Olin Corp. for 22 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and also enjoyed fishing and reading.
He is survived by three children Donna Butcher of California, Jeff (Laura) Minzer of Springfield, IL and Jeanne (Tom) Grossheim of Alton, IL; eight grandchildren Michael, Brandon, Lindsey, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Gianna Grossheim, Lachlan and Quinn Minzer.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded by his spouse Amanda Faye; two children Cathy and John Minzer; and two siblings Stewart and Winona Minzer.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL.
