Ruby came into the presence of the Lord at 9:20 am on April 7th 2016 with her family by her side. She was born November 25th, 1930 in Brighton, IL. She was the youngest of 8 children born to the late Ruby and Leslie Williams. This “Baby Girl” grew up in the Dow-Jerseyville area and was affectionately called “Pink.” She graduated from Jerseyville High School in 1948 and then retired from the Olin Corporation in 1984 after more than 25 years of service. She became a Christian at the age of 12 and served the Lord everyday for the rest of her life. She eventually became a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God where she served as the pianist. She played the piano for many other churches as well and enjoyed traveling each year with her daughter.She married Granville “Wayne” Cletcher on October 7th, 1966 in Alton and he preceeded her in death on April 17th, 2015. She was also preceeded in death by her 5 brothers; Garland, Sam, Virgil, Glen, and Wayne and her two sisters; Sylvia Decker, and F. Eileen Hulett. She will be eternally missed by all that knew her. Those surviving are her daughter; Janice Ligon (John) of Alton and her son; Michael Watts (Rhonda) of White Oak, TX. Her five grandchildren; Jeff Watts (Becky) of Longview, TX, Veronica Pinion (Ron) of Jacksonville, NC, Michael Ligon (Charlotte) of South Roxana, IL, Chance and Bianca Watts both of White Oak, TX. Her eight great-grandchildren; Kyle Watts, Kelsie Watts, Tres Perry, Jon Perry, KarLee Perry, Rhys Lane, Jupiter Watts and Phillip Conner Ligon and her great-great-grandchild Jairen Watts two sisters-in-law; Eva Jo Williams and Donna Philipp and many many nieces and nephews. She was under the care of BJC Hospice and her 1st born great-grandson Kyle David Watts and his mother Michelle Gibson. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm Monday April 11th 2016, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Tuesday April 12th at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with Reverend Samuel Williams to officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
