Roy Rushton

Roy Arnold Rushton, 82, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at his residence.
Born November 6, 1941 in Hartford, he was the son of Bonnie Bristol and Margaret (Lewis) Rushton.
Roy had worked as a laborer out of Labor Local 338 in Wood River before retiring.
He married Elizabeth "Betty" Kitson. She survives.
Surviving also are a son, Roy James Rushton of Hartford; two daughters, Beth Rushton of Carrollton, Rebeca "Becky" Behiter of South Roxana; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four brothers, Mike Rushton and Walter Rushton both of East Alton, Billy Rushton of Bethalto, Darrell Rushton of Roxana; and three sisters, Linda Gernigin and Margaret Spangler of Wood River, Sharon Seidler of Hartford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Raymond and David Rushton; and two sisters, Judy walker and Sandra McCartney.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, Wednesday, January 10 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Frank Akers will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
