Roy L Busse, 81, passed away at 9:56 pm on Saturday February, 18, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton.
He was Born on February 26, 1935 the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Mouser) Busse.
He married Jessie King on June 20, 1953 in East Alton. She survives.
Roy worked for Metro Transit, Formerly Bi-State, for twenty years before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed CB radios, working on and fixing cars, bowling, shooting pool, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Jessie, he is survived by six daughters and their spouses, Marion (Hudie) Miller of Cottage Hills, Linda (Darrell) Gill of Florida, Cheryl (Steve) Fillingim of South Roxana, Brenda (Michael) Bauman of Cottage Hills, Teresa (Chris) Hicks of East Alton, and Carol (Steve) Grossheim of Tennessee; twenty four grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a step-father Claude Crook; great granddaughter Ashley Miller; granddaughter-in-law Chris Miller; brother Charles Busse; sister Mary Lloyd.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday February 23, 2017 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday February 24, 2017 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Pastor Warren Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
