Roy D. Jurjens, 74, passed away at 3:30 am Friday, November 2, 2012 at his residence while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
He was born on September 5, 1938 in Sturgis, SD, the son of Lester and Harriet (Baird) Jurjens.
He married Carolyn J. Austin in July 1982 in Edwardsville. She survives.
Roy served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a maintenance electrician for 35 years at the Olin Brass Mill. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, camping, traveling and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Lisa Winn of San Antonio, TX, Christina and Michael McGuiggan of Wood River and Lynn Miller of Jefferson City, MO; a step daughter and her spouse, Tina and Robert Gregory of Mobile, AL; a stepson and his spouse, Andy and Michelle DeBose of O’Fallon, IL; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Evelyn Jurjens of Pensacola, FL and a sister and brother-in-law, Coralie and Ralph Myers of Casper, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Laurine Goodrich.
Cremation rites were accorded.
A memorial service will be held in Casper, Wyoming at a later date.
