Roy Braundmeier, 67, passed away at 5:55 pm on Sunday, January 1, 2017, from a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born February 4, 1949, in Wood River, Illinois, to LeRoy and Ovetia (Raymer) Braundmeier.He married Lynda Coble on November 11, 1995, in Bethalto. She survives.Roy was a member of Biker Memorial, Hart Bauer McBride, Biking Community, 5th Chapter Motorcycle Club, ABATE, District 58 Union for Allied Workers and AA. He was also a member and Vice President of Illinois Motorhead. He is remembered as an honest, kindhearted man who loved everyone selflessly and unconditionally. His family describes him as “the best of us.”In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his mother, Ovetia; four children and their spouses, Jenny (Jason) Kuhn of Mt. Vernon, Sonja (Todd) Werner of South Roxana, Jason (Kaleigh) Short of Caseyville, Michael (Kara) Braundmeier of Bethalto; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Devin and Austin Moore, Lucas Awalt, Jacob Kuhn, Aaliya and Adreanna Braundmeier, Carter Short; two sisters and their spouses, Donna (Gary) Triplett of Godfrey, Vicky (Gary) Eberlin of Wood River; one brother, Kevin Braundmeier of Wood River; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, LeRoy, and grandparents, Marie and Clyde Raymer.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017.
