Rosie S. Militello, 88, passed away at 2:08 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her home.
She was born July 13, 1922 in St. Louis to Frank and Maria (Picottia) Spano. Rosie married Angelo M. Militello Aug. 5, 1945 in Wood River. He passed away Aug. 10, 2004. A machine operator for Olin Corp., she retired in 1982 after 20 years. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Wood River Moose Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Rose Militello of Alton; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence “Larry” and Margaret Militello of Bethalto; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Militello. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis “Fanny” Certa.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Paynic Home for Funerals. Father Nnamdi Moneme will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
