Rosemary Wuellner

Rosemary R. Wuellner, age 87, formerly of Brighton, passed Thursday, March 23, 2017, with her family by her side.She was born August 13, 1929, in Muskegon, MI, the daughter of Francis E. and Theresa (Kison) Rowe. She married Ned Wuellner on July 15, 1953, in Muskegon, MI, and he preceded her in death.Rosemary was involved in many community organizations. She held every office in the Junior Service League and started the “Who’s New?” program during her twenty-five years of service. Rosemary had over thirty-one years of involvement with the Alton Community Service League and ran the Razmataz and their Arbor programs. Rosemary was deeply involved in the American Cancer Society. She and her husband, Ned, were Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Celebration of Christmas. They started the Doll House and Barn Auction in conjunction with the Gift Wrapping Fundraiser.Rosemary’s other involvements included teaching for many years in public, private, and cooking schools. In addition, she was involved in the Indochinese Refugee Program, and ran a private family counseling service. She is survived by eight children and their spouses, Ann and John Venardos of ID, Franz and Debbie Wuellner of Alton, Rolf and Michele Wuellner of OR, Leah and Matt Ursch of Godfrey, Sara and Dennis Moore of Jerseyville, Ruth and Marty Frey of Germany, Hope and Dan Brooks of Texas, and Jed and Rachelle Wuellner of Godfrey; a sister, Elinor Kapla of MI; sixteen grandchildren, Peter and Alex Venardos, Blaze and Mallory Wuellner, Justin and Josh Traff, Austen Wuellner, Taylor, Hannah, and Morgan Moore, Abraham and Chloe Frey, Derek and Audrey Brooks, and Tristan and Nathaniel Wuellner; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ned; she is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Joseph, William, and Edward Rowe; and two sisters, Jean Keiser and Frances Crane.Visitation will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 9020 Dallas Dr., Brighton, IL, from 10:00 am until a Celebration of Life service is complete.A private family burial will be held at a later date.The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
