Rose Marie (Masiero) Gares, 84, of Moro passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born November 1, 1933 in Alton, IL to Anton and Lettie (Gibbs) Masiero.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Sandra (Stephen) Bast of Colorado Springs, CO, Randy (Robin) Gares of Pensacola, FL, Rusty (Rhonda) Gares of Moro, IL, Sonya (Allen Abrahamson) Gares of Pensacola, FL and Sherri (Fred) Reamsma of Pensacola, FL; Fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Judy (Keith) Zumwalt of Hartford, IL and Helen Null of Bethalto, IL; two sisters-in-law, Nelda Masiero of Cottage Hills, IL and Shirley Masiero, of Cottage Hills, IL; loving caregiver, Karen Masiero; special family friends Gerald and Donna Norton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, John Gerde, Edward Masiero, Anthony Masiero, Dewey Masiero, Betty Allred, Robert Masiero, Richard Masiero; grandson Mitchell Abrahamson and great-grandson Alec Gares.
The family would like to recognize the special care given to her by the ICU staff of Alton Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com
