Rose Jeannette Heflin, 80, passed away at 6:13 pm Monday, December 26, 2016, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, under the care of VITAS Hospice. She was born on January 28, 1936, in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, the daughter of Adolphus H. and Bessie (Roy) Garrett.Rose married Albert E. Heflin on September, 14, 1956, in Meadowbrook. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2016.She was a former member of Bethel Baptist in Staunton. Rose was also a member of TOPS Club in Bethalto and Carlinville. She worked for Community Care, in Home Health Care, in the Macoupin County area until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, walking, canning, Uno, going out to eat. She loved her cat Amos but mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by four children and their spouse, Sherry and Gary Boster of Staunton, Cathy and David Harris of Worden, Jeff  Heflin of Bunker Hill, Bryan and Ashley Heflin of Bunker Hill; eighteen grandchildren and their spouses, Bill and Aisha Boster, Debbie and Mike Newman, Amy and Jacob Morgan, David  and Lisa Harris, Katelyn Harris, Cody Heflin, Wyatt Heflin, Maddie Heflin, Garrett Heflin, Briann Heflin, Ethan Morris, Braden Morris, Evan Morris, Lonnie and Paige Billings, Callie and Zach Marshall, Marshall and Jenny Billings, Seth Billings, and Ben Billings; sixteen great grandchildren; and two siblings, James Ray Garrett and his wife Janet, and Marie Sasser.In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Belinda Carol Heflin and Pamela Denise Billings; seven siblings, Harry Garrett, Wilson Garrett, Jake Garrett, Marybe Hubbard, Shirley Schoeneweis, Pete Wiseman, Idell Haynes, and Elizabeth Vine.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday, December 30, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Funeral services will be at 10 am, Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Rhodes officiating.Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to VITAS Hospice.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
