Rose Ellen Cruthis, 80, of Brighton, passed away at 6:58 am on Wed Nov 14, 2018 at home with her family at her side. She was born on April 10, 1938 in Alton to Charles Gorman & Rosetta (Collins) Gorman.
She married Gary Cruthis on June 30, 1956 in Alton. She was a graduate of Marquette High School and was a Certified Nursing Assistant until retiring in 1997. She loved camping, traveling to Hot Springs, AR every year with her husband, making cherry pies, watching cardinals, hummingbirds, dogs and cats, driving her kids to sporting events and spending time with grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, of which she shared 62 years of marriage. Also surviving are two daughters; Debra (Lorin) Dunn of Godfrey and Amber (Dan) Stewart of Brighton, and 2 sons; Scott Cruthis of Oxford, MS and Christopher Cruthis of Burleson, TX, 3 grandchildren; Tyler (Erica) Dunn of Overland Park, KS, Kailynne Cruthis of Edwardsville and Megan Rose Stewart of Brighton, & 2 great grandchildren; Vivian and Addelyn Dunn of Overland Park, KS and one sister; Mary Ann Coffman of Rosewood Heights, IL
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; Thomas "TJ" LaGesse.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Fri Nov 16, 2018 at Targhetta FH in Brighton.
Private funeral services will be on Sat Nov 17, 2018 with Rev Joyce Anders officiating.
Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to SLU Organ Transplant.
