Rosalie Tucker

Rosalie Tucker, 90, of Bethalto, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11:26 pm, while at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab.

She was born in Eldorado, IL, on August 10, 1933, the daughter of Joseph T. and Eva M. (Cletcher) Grant. Rosalie married Donnie Tucker in Broughton, IL, on September 22, 1952, he preceded her in death on May 7, 2011.

Rosalie was a dedicated member of Bethalto Church of God, where she once awarded Mother of the Year. She served as a greeter for the church for many years.  She enjoyed crafts and loved baking, particularly pies. Her, Donnie and close friends were avid "yardsalers", as her children have discovered, they have found many "treasures" over the years. Rosalie loved visiting with her friends and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, David "Tuck" (Kay) Tucker of Cottage Hills, George (Mary) Tucker of Bethalto, and Janet (Dennis) Cloninger of Bethalto; a sister, Sylvia (Don) Beasley of Bunker Hill; a brother, John (Judy) Grant of Broken Arrow, OK; a brother-in-law, Edward Douglas of Omaha, IL; and three sisters-in-law, Lynette Grant of Jerseyville, Diane Walker of Evansville, IN, and Elva Walker of Murray, KY; five grandchildren, Lesa (Chris) Shirley, Kevin Cloninger, Chad (Kellie) Cloninger, Jessica (Bradley) Phillips, and Joey Tucker; seven great-grandchildren, Brayden, Grant, Aiden, Landon, Gage, Addalyn, and Ivie; as well as two "bonus children" which she loved as her own, Danny Garrett of Florida, and Eric "Doc" Stephenson of Wisconsin.

Along with her parents and husband, Donnie, she was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Tucker; four sisters, Chloe Denny, Flo Headrick, Helen Shelton, and Kathy Douglas; and two brothers, Dale Grant and Harold Wayne Grant.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm at Bethalto Church of God, where funeral services will also be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10 am. Pastor Jacob Skelton will officiate along with Lyn Cloninger.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is entrusted with arrangements.

Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Bethalto Church of God Children's Ministry.
