Rosa Foster, 85, of Bethalto, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Jerseyville Manor.
She was born on December 26, 1938, in Cumberland, Kentucky, the daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth (Dixon) Foutch. Rosa married Charles W. Foster, Sr. in Virginia on June 18, 1956.
Rosa worked at Olin as an inspector for 14 years, before working for 17 years as a cook for the Bethalto School district. She was a member of Vaughn Hill Church of Christ in Wood River, where she was also a member of the Jolly 60's Club. Rosa enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, Charles (Jewell) Foster, Jr. of Medora, and Cathy (Don) Webb of Villa Ridge, MO; a grandson, Jamie Foster of Bethalto; a great-grandson, Cade Foster; a brother, Leonard (Bobbi Jo) Foutch of Cumberland, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Enoch Foutch, Arthur "Butch" Foutch, Cecil Fouch, Rodney Foutch, Daisy Hernandez, and Mearlon "Toots" Galloway; as well as her beagle, Angel.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Brian Magnuson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Indian Creek Cemetery in Hamburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Vaughn Hill Church of Christ.
