Ronnie Lattimore

Ronnie Lee Lattimore, of Edwardsville passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the age of 81 after a vigorous battle with Covid-19. 

Ronnie was born Jan. 11, 1939 to Geneva Doerr and James Lattimore. He was raised by his grandparents Fannie and James Teer. In 1956 he met the love of his life, Carol McCann, who was born to Mary Hauhe and Leonard McCann. She was also raised by her grandparents Bessie and William McCann. There were married in 1957 and have two children, Rhonda Hanfelder and Jeff Lattimore. 

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Lattimore, his two children Rhonda Hanfelder (Butch Hanfelder) and Jeff Lattimore. He was the proud grandpa to Brandi Howard (Brian Howard), Joey Kelly (Adam Kelly) and Caitlyn Lattimore. He was also a proud great grandfather to Gwyn Hanfelder, Alison Howard, Mary Holmes, and another precious great grandson to make an appearance in March of 2021. He is also survived by a brother, James Lattimore, sister-in-law, Gayle Eardley and several nieces and nephews. 

Ronnie retired from his career at Amoco in Wood River. He served as a deacon for many years at the East Maple Street Chapel in Hartford and is currently a member of the Troy/Collinsville Church of Christ. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was also a very talented wood carver and gave many treasured items to family and friends. He loved to play games with his family and loved to eat breakfast at Denny's with his friends. He also enjoyed watching cooking shows so he could instruct Carol on what to make for him. 

He leaves behind a family that loves him very much. We wants others to know that while we miss him, and our hearts ache with this loss, we know he no longer needs the assistance of a leg brace or a walker because he walking streets of gold with Jesus. 

Due to Covid-19 crowd restrictions, a private family service will be held.
