Ronald Johnson

Ronald R. “Rocky” Johnson, age 44, of East Alton, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at his home.

He was born July 29, 1973, in Alton, the son of Thomas and Susan (Shewmake) Johnson. Rocky loved the outdoors. His interests included camping and fishing. Rocky once caught a 98 lb buffalo. He had a deep love for his children and family. Rocky will be deeply and truly missed.Rocky is survived by his mother, Susan Johnson, of East Alton; four children, Ronald and Jonathan Johnson, both of Missouri, and Sammie Johnson of New Mexico, and Lexie Johnson of Wood River; Six siblings, Tommie Johnson of East Alton, Susan bailey of Alton, Debbie and Tom Whitehead of South Roxana, Candy Johnson of Bethalto, Joe Johnson, and Asa Johnson, both of East Alton; a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas.A Celebration of Rocky’s Life will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 5:00 pm at Abundant Life Community Church, Wood River Campus.Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.Online condolences may be made at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
