Ronald Lee Hardwick

Ronald Lee Hardwick, 73, of Jerseyville, died at 12:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Carrollton, Illinois on March 11, 1946, and was the oldest of five children born to  the late Paul and Eileen L. (Baker) Hardwick.Ron graduated in 1964 from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, and worked briefly at Owens-Illinois Glass Manufacturing in Alton. A very private individual, Ron found contentment just being home and spending his time with family, and of course, following the St. Louis Cardinals religiously.Surviving him are a sister and brother in-law, Paul and PeeWee Shackles of Jerseyville; three brothers and a sister in-law, Danny Hardwick of Jerseyville, William Rufus and Melanie Hardwick of Fieldon, and Doug Hardwick of Jerseyville.Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Saturday until time of funeral services at 10 a.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.He will be laid to rest alongside his parents at the Noble Cemetery in Otterville.Memories may be shared at www.crawfordfunerals.com
