Ronald Lee Creamer, 76, died at 1:47 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. Born December 10, 1938 in Herrin, IL, he was the son of David and Cleavie (Engleberth) Creamer. Mr. Creamer served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired as a machinist from Beall Manufacturing On February 28, 2001 after over 30 years of service. He was an avid fan of all Alton High School sports. On October 26, 1968 he married the former Cynthia Crain in Alton. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2011. Surviving are his in-laws, Ed and Cathy Gray of Alton, Janice and Jeff St. Clair of Bunker Hill, Judith Cox of Cottage Hills, Mary and Paul Mahon of Metamora; nieces and nephews, Virginia Spurgeon, Donna Besaw, Jerry Spurgeon, Gary Spurgeon, Joy Emerick, Ann Baehler, Keith Spurgeon, Kevin Spurgeon, Christine Creamer, Donnie Creamer, Sherry Vickey, Debra Creamer, and Jerry Wayne Copeland. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, including his twin, Donald, Clyde, David Lee, and Bill Creamer, three sisters, Lois Spurgeon, Linda LaRose and an infant sister, Arlene, two brothers-in-law, Gary and Steve Crain, and a niece, Gloria Spurgeon. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Ray Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Post 1308. Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
