Ronald Frew

Ronald Alan Frew, 88, of Gillespie, IL, died at his residence on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 4:46 am. He was born April 22, 1938, in Gillespie, IL to Joseph Frew & Mildred Jones Frew. 

He married Patricia Anita (Price) Frew on June 8, 1957 in Gillespie, IL. She preceded him in death on March 4, 2017. 

He was retired after having been an electrician for National Steel. Ronald was an alderman for the City of Gillespie. He was a member of the Buckeye Club. Ronald was an avid fisherman. 

He is survived by his children, Chris (David) Clay of Gillespie, IL, Karen (Bill) Lancaster of Gillespie, IL, Joe Frew of Gillespie, IL, daughter in law, Georgia Frew, grandchildren, Bethany (Roger) Price, Kyle Lancaster, Eric Lancaster, Samuel Clay, Ally (Logan) Cayce, great-grandchild, Conner Price, sister, Myrna Smith of Edwardsville, IL. 

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son, Mark Frew and brother, Rodger Frew. 

Friends may call on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Memorial service will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Gillespie Cemetery, Gillespie, IL. Memorials are suggested to Gillespie Benld Area Ambulance Service or Gillespie Sports Boosters.
