Ronald Eugene Lewis, 67, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home in Alton after a long battle with cancer. Born December 18, 1949 in Wood River Hospital, he was the son of Eugene E. and Bette J. (Allsman) Lewis. He worked for Owens Illinois Glass for many years in both Alton and in Chicago Heights, IL and later at Alton Mental Health Center in Alton for many years. He is survived by his wife, Jeana and son and his wife, Mike and Natalie Lewis of Harford, two grandchildren, Brittani (Damon) Melton and Allison; two great grandchildren, Addison Melton and Cayson Lewis, and his father, Eugene E. Lewis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Lewis on November 3, 1993 and his m other, Bette J. (Allsman) Lewis on December 4, 2014. Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. until time funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend randy Butler officiated.
