Ronald Diel Jones, 76, passed away at 5:45 pm Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at University Health and Rehabilitation Center in Edwardsville.
He was born on January 14, 1934 in Equality, IL, the son of Andrew “Buck” Sibert Jones and Iris (Cooley) Jones Stewart.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 – 1958. He worked as a mold maker at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton, later working in security, retiring after almost 40 years.
He is survived by his son, R. Dale Jones Sr. of East Alton and a granddaughter, Kelsy L. Jones of Roxana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dale Jones Jr. and a brother, Donald D. Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, December 17, 2010 with Rev. Lionel Gruver officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Bethalto with full military honors.
