Ronald Herman Carter, 85, passed away March 7, 2024 at his home.

Born in Pearl, IL on February 10, 1939, he was the son of Charles Herman and Ruth (Talkington) Carter.

A U.S. Coast Guard and Air Force veteran, he worked as an electrical technician for Ameren/UE for over 30 years before retiring in 1999.

On July 10, 1964 in Panama City, FL, he married Jean Elizabeth Hindrichs. She died July 20, 2015.

Surviving are a son, Chase (Sara) Carter of Rogers, Ark.; daughter, Janet (Darren) McNear of Brighton; six grandchildren, Abigail (Jacob) Juliano, Meghan (Jesse) Arnold, Madelyn Carter, Sadie Carter, Max Hines, and Finley Hines; a great grandchild, Luca Juliano, and a second great grandchild anticipated in September; and a sister, Kathy (Ronald) Burnett of Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Judith Carter; and sister, Joyce Sperry.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held from 3 pm until time of service at 5 pm, Friday, March 15 at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Pastor Timothy Appel will officiate.

Private family interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials are suggested to 5 A's Animal Shelter.
