Rodney Perkins

Rodney Eugene Perkins, age 55, of Alton, passed away Fridy, January 15, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Health Care Center.

He was born march 17, 1961, in Lincoln, IL, to William E. and Shirley (Wheatley) Perkins.Rodney was a member of both the Heartland Baptist Church and the Worth While Sunday School Class. Rodney has left us with a treasure of memories for his love of people (greeting all with a smile and expressive eyes) and his love for food and music. God blessed him to live fifty-five years and to be a colon cancer survivor for six years.Surviving are his devoted mother, Shirley; siblings, William Perkins, Becky Fair, and Brian Perkins; three nephews, Joshua Caleb, and Zachery; a niece-in-law, Laura; one close family friend, Marianne; an Aunt; Barbara (Wheatley) Gothard and family; also, a host of cousins, friends, and people who have come to know and love him, especially the devoted and loving staff at the Wiliam BeDell ARC Group Home and Workshop for twenty plus years.Rodney donated his remains to the St. Louis University Medical Program.His family would like to thank everyone who knew Rodney for their love and devotion to him. Memorials may be made to William BeDell ARC, and designated for the Workshop and Group Home expenses.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton has assisted the family with arrangements.
