Rodger Aldrich

Rodger Aldrich passed away on January 26, 2021, at the age of 77 at his home in Godfrey, IL.  As he went into the arms of the Lord, he was surrounded by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara (Stewart) Aldrich, Daughters, Julie Aldrich (Los Angeles, CA) and Karin (Aldrich) Davidson (Alton, IL), his son-in-law Allen Davidson (Alton, IL), his granddaughter, Laurin Davidson (Alton IL), his brother Harry “Butch” Aldrich, his sister-in-law Barbara S. Aldrich, his sister-in-law Karen Ferguson (Wood River, IL) and his nephew Jim Aldrich (East Alton, IL)

Rodger was born in Centralia, IL on November 4, 1943, to Harry and Edith (Bierman) Aldrich. He attended Alton Senior High School and served as a medic in the Army from 1962-1964.

On December 18, 1964, he married Barbara Stewart at First Christian Church in Wood River, IL.

In addition, he is survived by his brother-in-law Tom Stewart and sister-in-law Connie Stewart of Stafford, VA, brother-in-law Ken Harris and sister-in-law Joyce (Stewart) Harris of Wood River, IL, Brother-in-law Mark Ferguson and sister-in-law Karen (Stewart) Ferguson of Wood River, IL. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leslie and James.

He retired from the Wood River - Hartford school district in 2009. 

Rodger loved spending time with his family, reading the bible, watching Cardinals Baseball, and enjoying coffee with his cherished granddaughter, Laurin every morning. 

Visitation will be 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 10 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 2nd Chances Community Church, 4836 N. Alby St., Godfrey,  IL 62035. Reverend Jim Keil will officiate.

A graveside committal will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, IL.

The family has requested flowers be delivered to 2nd Chances Community Church. Memorials may be made to Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL to assist with funeral expenses.
