Robert L. “Bobby” Martin, Sr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton.  He was born on May 12, 1947, in Alton, the son of the late Robert and Pearl (McClain) Martin.  Survivors include three sons and two daughters in law: Robert L. and Antonia Marie Martin, Jr. of Oxford, Mississippi, Ronnie D. and Jennifer Leigh Martin of Bethalto, Mark Anthony Martin of St. Peter’s, Missouri, seven grandchildren: Kara Urioste and her husband: Alex, Blake Martin and his wife: Allena, Robert “Koty” Martin, Savannah Martin, Caleb Martin, Caitlyn Martin, Gage Martin, four great-grandchildren: Carson, Max, Mason, Riley, three brothers and two sisters in law: Jim and Nina Bricker, Harlan “Tooty” Martin, Cliff and Nettie Martin, five sisters and brothers in law: Joyce Ann and Donnie Carter, Alice and Greg Filback, Debbie and David Rudd, Carol and Kevin Mott, Lara and Ed Davis, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

 Bobby was formerly employed as a cab driver for Liberty Cab.  He was known as “Bicycle Bob” around East Alton and Wood River. 

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Maxine Clark, Nancy Martin, two brothers: Dennis Martin, Ronnie Martin, and a stillbirth brother: Jackie Martin.

 In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of services at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Pitchford Funeral Home.  Pastor Terry McKenzie will officiate.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto at a later date.

 Memorials are suggested to the family with checks payable to Cliff Martin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
