Robert Killebrew

Robert "Bob" L. Killebrew, 78, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Christian Hospital Northeast.
Born November 7, 1945 in White Hall, IL, he was the son of Robert W. and Viola Mae (Hepworth) Killebrew.
Bob had been employed at Wells-Schmidt Tire and Auto in Wood River for 27 years and later became a driver with the Madison County Transit System. He served as a volunteer fireman in the Village of East Alton for 20 years and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. During their retirement years, he and his wife, Gloria enjoyed mowing lawns.
On June 25, 1966 in White Hall, he married Gloria Costello. She survives.
Surviving also three daughters, Debbie Killebrew of East Alton, Barb (Sean) Whitesell of Kiefer, OK, Beverly (Christopher) Barnes of Bunker Hill; and five grandchildren, Brendan Phelps, Katie Pyle, McKayla Whitesell, Star Barnes, and Noah Barnes.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Monday, January 15 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Tuesday at Holy Angels Parish Church in Wood River. Father Donald Wolford will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to Holy Angels Parish and/or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
