Robert Kelly Kenney, 75, of Hillsboro, IL, died Mon. Nov. 23, 2025 at his home.
He was born May 14, 1950 in Hillsboro to the late James Edward and Patty Elizabeth (Bliss) Kenney.
Bobby had been a self-employed painter. He was a fun loving people person who had many friends locally and scattered across the country. For many years Robert was very active in the local 12-step community. He took great satisfaction in his sobriety and how he had changed his life. Robert was very loyal to one group in particular, chairing that meeting for many years.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Charlene Kenney of Hillsboro, IL, sister-in-law, Linda Hamilton Kenney of Coffeen, IL, nieces and nephews, Linda Seaborne, Daniel Kenney, Clinton Kenney, and Patricia Marie (Toby) Beard, great-nieces and nephews, Nora (Zack) Kenney, Tristin Kenney, Sara Kenney, Shane Rowan, Ivana Kenney, Nakoa Kenney, Anakin Kenney, Tyler Beard, and Devon Beard, and great-great nieces and nephews, Leo, Eli, and Kai.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Bliss Kenney.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
