Robert Hanneken

Robert Jonathan "Bobby Jon" Hanneken, 58, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026 at his residence, surrounded by the love of his family, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on July 7, 1967, one of two children born to Robert William and Roberta (Frost) Hanneken.

A lifelong resident of Kane, he attended Kane Grade School and graduated in 1985 from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville.

For over 30 years, Bobby Jon has been employed with Litchfield Specialty, and was currently serving as their warehouse manager. His passion however, was his family, as well as farming, fishing and hunting.

He married Latasha Norris on April 3, 2012 in Carrollton, Illinois, and together they have been blessed the last 14 years together building memories and sharing love.

Surviving are his wife, Latasha Hanneken; his mother, Bobbie Hanneken of Kane; a son and daughter in law, Cody and Blaine Hanneken of Fieldon; two step children, Dominick Smith and Alesha Smith both of Kane; two grandchildren, William Hanneken and Hannah Hanneken; a sister and brother in-law, Rebecca and Brian Bohannon of Jerseyville; his aunt, Barbara Krause of Carrollton; special nieces and nephews, a great nephew and niece; along with cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hanneken on April 11, 2025; grandparents, William and Minnie Hanneken and Floyd and Mary Frost; and an uncle, Darrell Krause.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with Frank DeWitt officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Kane Cemetery.
