Robert Gutherz

Robert “Bob” Henry Gutherz, 82, of Millstadt, IL, born July 4, 1944, in Belleville, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO, with family by his side.

Mr. Gutherz retired from Parrish Trucking after 38 years of service. He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran and was a member of the Millstadt VFW.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Sue Gutherz, nee Daubach, whom he married on May 12, 1972, and who died on September 29, 2025; his parents, Edwin and Hilda, nee Wagner, Gutherz; and two brothers-in-law, John “Tiny” Daubach, Jr. and Robert D. Casey Sr.

He is survived by a son, Robert J. (Julie) Gutherz of Chesterfield, MO; a daughter, Amy (Kenn) Bueckman of Millstadt, IL; two grandchildren, Trent (fiancée, Emily Gauthier) of O’Fallon, IL, and Kaeli Bueckman of Millstadt, IL; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Dale (Angie) Daubach of Belleville, IL, Pamela Casey of New Athens, IL, and Debra (A.P.) Moore of Swansea, IL; many dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his best friend, Rick Burns.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2026, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.

Burial with military honors will be at Mount Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, IL.
