Robert Gauntt, 84, passed away at 5:15 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Hardin, IL on May 30, 1933 the son of the late Frank and Fannie (**) Gauntt.
He married Bonnie (Vinyard) Gauntt on November 22, 1954 in East Alton. She survives.
Robert served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed collecting wagons, planting flowers, his car, a 56 Buick, antiquing and most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by three sons, Mike (Diane) Gauntt of Godfrey, Robby (Pam) Gauntt of Fosterburg, Tim (Robyn) Gauntt of Brighton; three grandchildren, Geoffrey Gauntt, Taylor Gauntt and Derick Stumpf.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters/
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with military rites performed by the Alton VFW Post 1308.
