Robert Levy

Robert “Bob” F. Levy, age 84, went to be with the Lord at 5:05 am on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Integrity in Alton, IL.

He was born December 30, 1934 in East St. Louis, son of Henry L. Levy and Elmira Mae (Brinkley. He married Linda (Whorl) Levy in 1964 she passed away on March 6, 2008.

Bob served his country in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War for 22 years. He was employed with the state of Illinois and worked as a prison guard then retired after 10 years. He was a member of the VFW in Woodriver and enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with all his family and friends.

He is survived by his two children; Frances (Greg) Cross of Godfrey, IL, Jeffery Levy of Alton, IL, sister; Ann (Ted) Mezo of Freeburg, brother; Bo Levy of Texas, one grandchild, six great grandchildren, Missy and Tim Partelow of Swansee, IL, good friends; Mary Smith of Godfrey, IL, and Tesse Clover of Swansee, IL.

Bob is preceded by his parents, wife, son; Robert W. Levy, sisters; Mary E. Keelin, Theresa M. Croissant, and brother; George C. Levy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Terry Mckenzie. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Bethalto with military rites being performed by Alton VFW Post 13.

Memorials may be made to the VFW of Woodriver.
