Robert F. Blackard entered the Kingdom of our Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2010.
Loving husband and dance partner of 60 years to Alberta L. (Hall), who passed way on May 27, 2009, beloved mother to Randy (Mary) Blackard, Jody Proctor (Tom Busken), and Donna Blackard. Bob was "Grandpa" to six: Keith (Heather) Blackard, Heather Blackard, Gary Proctor II (preceded him in death), Ashleigh (Shawn) Badalamenti, Rebekka Darner, and Allen (Sarah) Frey. He was "Paw Paw Bob" to eight great-grandchildren: Freedom, Ryan, Shawn, Ethan, Shayne, Jake (preceded him in death), Karina and Tyce.
Bob was employed at the Granite City Steel Mill as a shipping supervisor for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. He served his country as a pilot in the Ferry Command of the Army Air Corp during WWII.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 2 pm until a memorial service at 5 pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home, 727 E. Bethalto Blvd., Bethalto, IL. Please join us to memorialize our Father on this, the first anniversary of our Mother’s passing.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
