Robert Eugene Tucker, 68, passed away 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Granite Nursing and Rehab.
Born in Wood River on February 22, 1947, he was the son of Webb Graham and Betty Tucker Payne. He was raised by his grandparents, Harley and Lela Tucker.
Ron had been a sign language instructor at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley.
Surviving are four sisters, Phyllis Oster-Benton and Sally Payne of East Alton, Jessie Jenkins of Alton and Paulette Dabney of Albany, TX.
His parents; grandparents; brother, Johnny Payne, Jr.; and sister, Carol "Tootie" Maggert preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Burial will follow in Short Cemetery in Cottage Hills.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville.
