Robert E. Wild Sr., 75, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his home in Godfrey. Born May 19, 1937 in Murrayville, Illinois, he was the son of Ethel Wild. Mr. Wild retired in 1998 as a machinist for Owens-Illinois Glass. He was a member of the Alton Moose Lodge and the Hibbard Masonic Lodge #246. On April 5, 1958 he married Carolyn L. Cloninger. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2013. Surviving is a daughter, Cindy Bechtold (Bill) of Godfrey, two sons, Robert Wild Jr. of Jerseyville, and Steve Wild (Susan) of Brighton, six grandchildren, David Clare (Sara), Ashley Clare, Beth Wild, Troy Wild, Sara Baggio (Nick), and Scott Bethtold (Jamie), and four great-grandchildren, Jack Clare, Emma Baggio, Eli Baggio, and Grace Bechtold. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Paul Wild. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Steve Rice will officiate.
