Robert Spaulding

Robert E. Spaulding, 91, passed away at 7:16 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home in Alton. Born January 16, 1926 in Jerseyville, he was twin son of Harmon Eugene and Helen (Rogers) Spaulding. He graduated from Jersey Township High School and served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge he married the former Ketra A. Stephens on June 16, 1946. They were married 71 years. He retired from Laclede Steel and was a past member of the Alton Wood River Sportsmen’s Club, the Moose Lodge and the Alton Eagles. He was also a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church and has been Methodist all his life. In addition to his wife he is survived by twenty-five nieces and nephews, one a sister-in-law, Karen Fulks. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Roger and his wife Jean Spaulding. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Godfrey First United Methodist Church. Reverend Steven Friese will officiate.
